Improved Double Page Spread!!

What i have done here i have have improved my opening line and put it in a good place as before it was a random colour and in the middle of the page and didn't look very good at all

Improved Contents Page!!!

The changes that i have made are things such as i have had to firstly change the images. This is because that i was in one of them and apparently i am not allowed to be therefore i had to put other images in. But the other images weren't the same size as the previous images so the gapes around the pictures was bigger so i had to spread things around to make the images fit the best i could.

Focus groups What do you look for when you purchase a magazine? His response to this was a female on the front or some sort of car, so as this was a music magazine I just an attractive girl on the front in what would be her going out outfit so that it gives a bit of what he asked for and said he’s like and also combines it with the music genre. How much are you willing to pay for a magazine? Her response to this was around £2. However I didn’t actually charge this much because most music magazines charge around £3-£4 for their magazine. So it only seems appropriate to charge around the same thing for it. What would encourage you to buy a music magazine if you don’t already? He said if there was an artist that he quite liked or a chance to go see them. In response to this what I did was I didn’t put an already existing artist on, but I did create a new artist that had made headlines, so that it would also draw new people into the magazine and buy it because every on be would be talking about it. What do you like existing magazines to offer? His respnse3 was little toys or gifts. But as this magazine was aimed at late teen/ students I didn’t really think that that was appropriate so what I did was instead was put a competition that you could enter and have a chance to win. Would you like to have interactions in the magazine like competitions? His response to that was no because they are too much hassle. Once again I decide to not go with that as almost all of the magazines offer competitions as they are a create way to get reader involved and buy the magazine. Aldo it creates more money for the magazine therefore I put one on mine Would you prefer just one genre or a mixture in a music magazine? He said just one genre because then you can compare an all the new types of music that you are interested in. So in response to this I have chosen dance music but as dances music is really a genre people associate music to I have gone for dance/ pop music.

The reason that i like this desighn is becasue it doesnt look boring. This desing has things going on all around it, whether that be the background fading in from white to a newspaper background. then theres also the pictures that i have on the double page spread becasue ther mulitiple pictures of the main artist and i quite like them.

Strengths: The colours all work well together and complement each other other. The layout looks aesthetically pleasing and how you would expect a typical music magazine to look (follows the conventions). Areas for improvement: It's hard to read the smaller writing, and there is possibly too much writing as it almost dominates the page. The colours used relate well to a real music magazine along with the evenly laid out images giving the page a good structured layout. The lighting on the middle image links well to the colours used to highlight the page numbers. The smaller font used to explain each article is a bit difficult to read, it could be better if they were larger to make it easier to read. You could also add page numbers to each image to show what article they are linked with and were the stories can be found. jamie's comment - the whole page looks really professional and realistic. all of the shapes nd different colours all fit in together. the colour scheme is really smart and works well with the picture on the page. the large text for the titles looks really good and catch your eye straight away. i love the main title how you've got the writing on top of the over writing, it looks really great! cant pick any faults!

What i have done here is i have moved around all then contents from my draft 1 around. This is because all the information is relevant so i decided too keep that but all i did was move it around to have a couple of different variations. I have uploaded two because i could not decide whether i like the white box behind the text or not so i'm going to wait for some test buddy feedback to decide which one to keep.

My Aims For Draft No.2

Now i have fully completed my first draft what i aim to do for my next one is to change where everything is positioned. I aim to keep all the text from the first draft as that was the one thing that took the most time to come up with and took the longest time to complete. I'm going to change things like the fonts that i have used, the colour scheme and hopefully changed where everything will go as i feel the more dramatic changes i make the more choice i have when it comes to my final contents page.

I have created this design from gathering a mass load of previously made contents pages from other music magazines to get all the conventions right. My favorite part about this design is how the text is set out. I feel the look that i have gone for with that does actually make it look real. However i was not to sure what to do when it came to the big box in the center so i just went and put some relevant images in there and await feed back to help me decide what to do to improve it.
